Ingredients for Beetroot Crepe Recipe
Beetroot – 4 Medium
Chickpeas flour or Gram flour – One and a half cup
Turmeric Powder – Half Teaspoon
Salt – 1 Teaspoon or as per taste
Carom Seeds – 1 Teaspoon
Oil for cooking
1 Cup - Approx 150 Grams
To prepare this recipe, take 4 medium beetroots.
Peel off the skin of the beetroots and then chop them followed by boiling them in water for 15-20 mins
After 20 mins, take them out of water and let them cool down, you can also run them under cold water
Make a puree out of the beetroots. I am adding a small amount of water while blending them
Add the puree to a fresh bowl
To a bigger bowl add 400 grams of chickpeas flour, add half teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of carom seeds, mix the dry ingredients, then add the beetroot pure till you get a smooth running batter, add some water to get the right consistency
Heat a pan and add some oil - brush the oil evenly across the pan.
Once the pan is hot, add 1-2 ladles of batter to the pan and spread it in a circular fashion like a pancake/crepe. You can choose the thickness as per your choice
Cook it over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Once the crepe is cooked on one side, gently flip it
Let it cook for another 2-3 minutes on the other side
You can also add vegetables on the crepe and cook it
I like to add some finely chopped tomatoes, onion, green chilies while making it
